Some weeks ago, popular singer, Korede Bello, was accused by his lecturer, Boye Ola at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) in Ogba, for constantly missing lectures, and the lecturer threatened to resign if the Mavin records artiste took the semester exams. Korede who later apologised was allowed to sit for the examination, as the school management placed an embargo on the hitherto stiff 70% attendance policy.
Some weeks down the line, the result of the last examination conducted was released and it was discovered that the mega super star artiste, Korede Bello, with Matric number HMC/15/091 passed his entire papers in flying colours, including the courses that proved difficult for other students.
Bearing in mind that the artiste who barely attended classes could have an amazing result, tongues started wagging among students questioning the authenticity of his result with one Damilare Famuyiwa championing the course.
In order to present a more balanced story, Celeb Police Agent went on an investigatory mission to Korede Bello’s school, the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), to dig up facts about the impending issue.

Making further enquiry about the authenticity of his result, It was gathered that Korede Bello is an exceptionally brilliant student who doesn’t allow his fame and music career to affect his education. According to a male student in the same department with the artiste who would rather remain anonymous because of the sensitive nature of the issue, he maintained “Apart from the fact that he is a celebrity, Korede is intelligent, a lecturer brought two scripts to our class yesterday and asked us to assess the script without revealing the names and matric number on the scripts, when we finished marking the two scripts, almost the whole class was impressed with the first script, the way he structured his sentence and his understanding of the question, while the other one was below average, it was after we finished marking the script that the lecturer revealed to us the script we were impressed with was Korede Bello’s while the other one was Damilare Famuyiwa’s”
Another lecturer in the department Mr Tolu Ojemuyiwa denies any form of favouritism on the part of the school management or lecturers towards the artiste. According to him “No lecturer favours or dis-favours any student in the department; we maintain high level of professionalism in the way we operate in the school.” Attesting to the validity of Korede’s result, he further claims “Korede is sound, brilliant, and friendly, he attends classes, and makes meaningful contributions during lectures. Every other lecturer can attest to it.”
From investigation, Celeb Police gathered that before now, Damilare Famuyiwa who we discovered was a student journalist with The Nation Newspaper had a supposedly cordial relationship with Korede Bello to the extent that the artiste granted him an interview which was published on The Nation Newspaper on 1st March, 2015.

Inasmuch as the evidences and testimonies presented seem valid, Celeb Police does not deem it sufficient to draw conclusion based on the above perspective. More investigations revealing other angles will be made and we promise to bring you updates as they unfold.
