In 12 months scoring card, American rapper cum actor, Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg popularly known as Markie Mark earned $68 million pretax, leading the park of Hollywood’s highest paid actors.

Wahlberg was known as Marky Mark in his early career as frontman for the group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, releasing the albums Music for the People and You Gotta Believe.

Wahlberg later transitioned to acting, appearing in films such as the drama Boogie Nights and the satirical war comedy-drama Three Kings during the 1990s.

In the 2000s, he starred in the biographical disaster drama The Perfect Storm, the science fiction film Planet of the Apes, the heist film The Italian Job, and the Martin Scorsese-directed neo-noir crime drama The Departed, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

According to Forbes, the Boston native recorded his highest-ever payday thanks to soaring fees for movies such as Transformers: The Last Knight and the forthcoming Daddy’s Home 2.

Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson known by ring name ‘The Rock’ ranks No.2, with past year’s earnings of $65 million.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, Johnson gained mainstream fame in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) from 1996 to 2004 and was the first third-generation wrestler in the company’s history.

Johnson’s first leading film role was in The Scorpion King in 2002. For this, he was paid US$5.5 million, a world record for an actor in his first starring role.

One of his more prominent roles is Luke Hobbs in The Fast and the Furious franchise. Johnson hosted and produced The Hero, a reality competition series and has since continued to produce TV shows and films through his production company, Seven Bucks Productions.

Vin Diesel

With earnings leap of 55%, Mark Sinclair known by his stage name Vin Diesel ranks No. 3 with $54.5 million.

He is well known for his portrayals of Dominic Toretto in The Fast and the Furious film series, Richard B. Riddick in The Chronicles of Riddick series and Xander Cage in the xXx series.

The eight installment of Diesel-fueled fast and the furious franchise became the second highest grossing movie of 2017, topping $1.2 billion at the global box office.

Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler ranks No. 4 with past earnings of $50.5 million

After becoming a Saturday Night Live cast member, Sandler went on to star in many Hollywood feature films that combined have grossed over $2 billion at the box office.

The actor who is best known for his comic roles now makes a killing from his Netflix deal, which provided him an estimated $250 million to make four original movies for the streaming services.

Jackie Chan

Chan Kong-sang, known professionally as Jackie Chan ranks No. 5 with past year’s earnings of $49 million.

The Hong Kong martial artiste has has carved a niche in the industry for his acrobatic fighting style, comic timing, use of improvised weapons, and innovative stunts, which he typically performs himself.

He, however makes most of his money on mainland movies you’ve probably never heard of, recently Railroad Tigers and Kung Fu Yoga.
